He was scared, the kind of scared that makes you feel as though you are going to vomit at any moment. But yet he could not show it. That’s the hardest thing in the world to do: Be terrified and not show it…

I have to say that this is my favorite episode thus far. The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord. His grace is sufficient.

Hello Mr Brown, just want to let you know that I accidentally stumbled upon your podcast on Google Play yesterday when I was looking for something else and am I glad the Lord allowed me to! I have heard 3 of your podcasts: Eric Liddell, Margaret Wilson and this one. Something quickly stood out to me. One thing that marks these beautiful saints of the past is their freedom from the fear of death and extreme suffering. And their continued obedience and trust in God, bowing to His sovereign will, even when His will meant tragic endings for the story He authored for their lives on earth. My faith and obedience are so brittle and easily waver though (or perhaps because) I am in easier circumstances than these saints. I was quite challenged by this.

Thank you very much for your work to make these podcasts for the edification and sanctification of the Present saints. I hope these stories of Past saints will result in greater holiness, obedience and resilience in my life and other listeners.

Thanks for your kind words and for listening to several episodes of this podcast. These extraordinary people are only extraordinary because of their God. The same God that resides in the hearts of all those that place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. We must remember this as we listen to these stories. They were made of flesh and bone just as we, prone to fear and doubt. Yet they yielded themselves to God, who glorified Himself through their suffering and death. Just give your faultering life to God, and let Him do the rest. Thanks again for listening!
